EOJHL: RAMS COLE CARTER TAKEN IN OHL DRAFT

Stittsville Rams rookie forward Cole Carter was selected in the 4th round (72nd overall) in the OHL Draft today by the Windsor Spitfires after an extremely strong rookie season in the EOJHL.

After being passed over following his Minor Midget season which saw him post 16 goals and 51 points in 30 games with the Ottawa Valley Titans, the Orleans, Ontario native would make the jump to the Junior B level as a 16-year-old.  He would win EOJHL Valley Division Rookie of the Year after he led all rookies in scoring with 27 goals and 63 points in 36 games.  He currently has 6 goals and 25 points through 20 playoff games as the Rams trail the Casselman Vikings 3-2 in their best-of-seven EOJHL Final Series.

Listed at 5-8, 150 lbs, Carter possesses great vision as he can see plays develop and put himself in the proper lanes to be ready for an incoming pass.  His ability to read the ice also allows him to find open teammates through crowded areas.  He will need to continue to work on his play without the puck and get stronger in order to play a top 6 role at the next level.

His CCHL Rights belong to the Gloucester Rangers where he suited up for 5 games this past season.
