EOJHL PROSPECT WATCH: BAILEY HEIN

Hein, a 17-year old Pembroke, Ontario native is in his 2nd season with the Renfrew Timberwolves where he finished 7th in Regular Season club scoring with 9 goals and 25 points in 38 games.  He may not have reached point per game status yet but Renfrew leans a lot on their veteran forwards as the 6 players ahead of him in scoring were all 20 years and older.  He currently has 3 goals and 4 points in 4 playoff games where the Timberwolves are tied 2-2 in their best-of-seven 1st round series with the Shawville Pontiacs.

Listed at 5-11, and 175 lbs, Hein is getting better and better every game, and beginning to be relied upon in all situations.  He is a 60% faceoff guy, who has a place on both the penalty kill and power play units, a great all around player.

“He is one of the most mature 97 born players out there, and has an amazing shot”, said Timberwolves Assistant Coach Danby Suckow.  “He was a bit snake bitten this season as the bounces were not going his way but has shown up for playoffs, which is what every coach wants, a guy who shows up when it counts”, added Suckow.

He was a member of the Ottawa Valley Titans AAA Program where he was a standout player and named one of 24 players to be taken in the 2012 CCHL Bantam Protect Draft where the Pembroke Lumberkings took him 21st overall.  He has a very important off-season coming up to prepare himself to make the potential jump to Junior A next spring.
