Jr Senators Take Game 1 Over Rangers

All 5 goals were scored in the 3rd period as the Ottawa Jr Senators defeated the Gloucester Rangers 4-1 to take a 1-0 best-of-seven series lead in their CCHL Quarter Finals match-up Wednesday night.  The Jr Senators scored two shorthanded markers, one on the power play, and one at even strength while out-shooting the Rangers 39-20.

Robert Michel and Shawn Lynch led the way with 1 goal and 1 assist each while Brandon Watt and Connor Bebb also found the net for the winning club.  Alexandre Savard-Belanger had a quiet night in the net as he turned aside 19 of the 20 shots that the Rangers threw his way.

Jaren Burke had the lone Gloucester goal while Doug Johnston had a strong effort between the pipes making 35 saves.  Gloucester advanced to the Quarter Finals after sweeping Kemptville in their best-of-three Preliminary match-up which they finished on Monday night.

Game 2 takes place Saturday night at 7:30 live from the Jim Durrell Complex in Ottawa.
