Gloucester Moves On, Kemptville Ousted

It took five periods but the Gloucester Rangers ousted the Kemptville 73’s from the playoffs with a 3-2 double OT victory.  The overtime hero was Zachary Borsoi who ended the game at the 9:22 mark of the 5th frame.  The real hero in the game however was Rangers goaltender Doug Johnston who finished with 71 saves.  Dorian Dawson (1g, 1a), Max Veronneau (1g, 1a), Matt Foget (2a), were the offensive leaders for Gloucester while Dean Galasso tallied both Kemptville goals.

Smiths Falls Wins, Ties Series

The Smiths Falls Bears were able to hold on after Nepean got within a goal late to tie their best of three series 1-1.  The Bears received point production from 9 different players, with the goal scorers being Nicolas Coates, Chris King, and Cole Busschaert while goaltender Michael Pinios stopped 23 of 25 shots in the victory.  Nepean has had a tough season at home and Monday evening was not any different.  The Raiders line of Felix Page, Jody Sullivan, and Josh Zizek was responsible for all the offense as Page had 2 goals and Sullivan and Zizek added 2 assists each.  Game 3 goes Tuesday night in Smiths Falls at 7:30pm, with the winner moving on.
