The Sarnia Sting were quite busy on Thursday December 4th as they have signed their third round pick from the 2014 Minor Midget draft, Waterloo forward Chase Campbell.

The Sarnia Sting are getting quite the player. Chase is an undersized (but growing) forward with a really impressive hockey IQ. He has an explosive first step, and impressive stride to go along with quick feet, making him an above average skater overall. Chase’s vision coupled with his skating ability allows him to thrive despite his smaller frame which will allow him to excel in the Ontario Hockey League. Chase has an excellent shot, places the puck well, and has an accurate shot with a quick release. One factor that will allow chase to thrive with the tougher competition is the ability to do everything he does well at top end speed. He will need to add strength, and although he’s a powerful skater, he shows good core strength. Chase has the willingness to take a hit to make a play and sees the game well in both ends of the ice. With his offensive skill, Chase, has made tremendous strides in Jr B and in my opinion is ready to take the next step.

Chase, was currently playing with the Waterloo Siskins of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League and currently has seven goals, twenty one assists good for twenty eight points in twenty four games. He was excelling at the Jr B level. Chase is expected to make his OHL debut tonight verses the North Bay Battalion.

Good luck in Sarnia Chase. Your teammates, fans, and family are proud of you.
