Canadians Advance To CCHL Finals

The Carleton Place Canadians defeated the Cornwall Colts 4-2 on Sunday night to advance to the CCHL Finals for the 2nd straight season.

Andy Sturtz paced the Canadians with 2 goals and 1 assist, Jordan Larson and Vinny Post also scored, while Guillaume Therien made 33 saves for his 7th playoff victory.

Cornwall received goals from Jay D’Amour and Peter Angelopoulos while Dennyy Dubblestyne made 29 saves in the loss.

Carleton Place will now wait for either the Ottawa Jr Senators or Pembroke Lumberkings whose best-of-seven series is tied 3-3.  As for Cornwall, their CCHL season may be over, but they are the host club for the 2015 Fred Page Cup which starts up Wednesday April 29th.

Jr Senators Force Game 7

Although the Lumber Kings would make it close, the Jr Senators held on for the 4-3 victory Sunday night, forcing a 7th and deciding game.

Robert Michel (1g, 2a) and Carl Faucher (2g) provided the majority of the offense, Isaac Anderson also scored, while Ian Andriano picked up his 2nd straight victory making 29 saves.

Adam Dauda, Jesse Blais, and Alexandre Boivin had the Pembroke goals, while Jordan Piccolino finished with 22 saves on 26 saves in the loss.  Felix Chamberland finished the game with 1 assist and had an unsuccessful penalty shot mid-way through the 3rd period.

Game 7 goes Tuesday April 7th at the Jim Durrell Complex in Ottawa at 7:30pm.
