MOLLOT-HILL MAKES COMMITMENT TO JOIN PROVIDENCE COLLEGE IN 2017-18

The Central Canada Hockey League & Pembroke Lumber Kings are pleased to announce that ’97 born goaltender Gabriel Mollot-Hill has committed to Providence College for 2017-18.

Mollot-Hill, who was born in Newton, MA but grew up in Ottawa started 27 games for the Lumber Kings as a rookie, posting a record of 15-6-3-1 with a 2.30 GAA, .919 SV% and 2 shutouts.  He spent the 2014-15 season with the CCHL2’s Ottawa Jr Canadians and is a graduate of the Ottawa 67’s AAA program.

At 6-4, 196 lbs, he has the prototypical goalie size that today’s pro teams are leaning towards.  The scouting report on him is pretty strong stating he challenges shooters well and has steady rebound control.  He brings a calm demeanor to the blue paint and communicates well with his defensemen.  His play down-low is very good, is strong laterally and has an extremely quick glove hand.

With one more season of junior hockey ahead of him before he makes the jump to the NCAA, Mollot-Hill will look to earn more starts with the Lumber Kings and continue his steady and noticeable development.

His commitment brings the current list of CCHL skaters committed to Division I NCAA hockey this season to 31.  His teammate Cale List committed to UMass-Lowell back in mid October.
