EOJHL PROSPECT WATCH: ZACH CROSS

Entering his second full season with the Ottawa West Golden Knights in September, 17 year old Zach Cross had a career total of 4 points in 31 games from the 2013-14 season, it would not take him long to match his previous seasons total.  After just 6 games played on the season, Cross would  set new career highs with 1 goal and 4 assists.

He would finish the 2014-15 season with 12 goals and 25 points in 34 games, placing him 6th in team scoring.  He also added 4 points while shorthanded as he has become a go to player on the penalty kill.

Listed at 6-0, and 175 lbs, the Gloucester Ontario native is a product of the Ottawa Senators AAA Program where he was a member of the 2012-13 OEMMHL Championship team.  The hard working winger offers up a strong shot and the ability to find his teammates, he’s not just a one dimensional kind of hockey player as he is strong defensively.  He needs to continue to work on his skating, as well as get stronger, but when everything is where it can get to, he will be a player.

Cross was the 25th overall draft pick in the 2012 CCHL Draft where he was selected by his hometown Gloucester Rangers.
