EOJHL PLAYOFF UPDATE: VIKINGS HEAD TO FINALS AGAIN

Although the Prescott Flyers put out their best effort of the Rideau-St. Lawrence Conference Finals, the Casselman Vikings would take the game 3-2 and finish off the Flyers in 4 straight games.  Taylor Widenmaier scored 2 goals, including the winner to break a 2-2 tie with just over 5 minutes remaining in the final frame.  Alex MacLean also found the back of the net while Gianmarco De Meis made 26 saves for his playoff leading 12th victory.

Prescott had goals from Brandon Gilmour and Ron Harrison while goaltender Jarrett Pitt made 33 saves in the losing effort.

The Vikings will meet the winner of the Metro-Valley Conference Final, either the Stittsville Rams or Gatineau Mustangs, the Rams lead that series 3-2.

With Casselman heading to the EOJHL Final, this marks the 3rd time in the past 4 seasons that they have accomplished such a feat, winning league titles in their only appearances.  After their 2013-14 Carson Trophy, the Vikings went on to take part in the Don Johnson Cup, becoming the 1st club outside of the Atlantic Provinces to take part.  The Vikings went a perfect 6-0 in the tournament being crowned Eastern Canadian Champions.
