CCHL PLAYOFF UPDATE: QUARTER FINALS (MAR 12/15)

Canadians Top Raiders in Game 1

Carleton Place would take Game 1 of their Quarter Finals Series against the Nepean Raiders by a score of 7-1.  The Canadians, who out-shot Nepean 55-15 would be led by Adam Lloyd and his 4 point night while Wesley Baker found the net twice in the victory.  Maxime St. Pierre, Craig Pefley, and David Eccles also scored goals and Guillaume Therien stopped 14 of 15 shots.  Nepean received their lone goal on the power play as Adel Zivojevic scored unassisted.  Game 2 goes tonight at the Nepean Sportsplex at 7:30pm.

Braves Take Game 1 Over Lumberkings

Captain Sean King led the way with 2 goals and 1 assist as the Brockville Braves took a 1-0 series lead on the Pembroke Lumberkings Thurday evening.  Liam Folkes and Jack Billings also scored while Bo Taylor was exceptional between the pipes turning aside 39 shots.  Jesse Blais scored the Pembroke goal while Jordan Piccolino stopped 26 of 30 shots in the loss.  Game 2 of the series takes place tonight live from Brockville at 7:30pm.

Hawks Take Out Colts In OT

The closest game of the night would need an extra period as the Hawkesbury Hawks would squeak out a 4-3 Game 1 victory as Hunter Racine was the overtime hero.  Liam Alcade, Jonathan Tecce, and Reid Murphy also had goals while Gunner Rivers was solid stopping 50 of the 53 shots he faced on the night.  On the Cornwall side, Craig Ross had 2 goals and Tristan Ellie had the other while Denny Dubblestyne had 39 saves in a losing effort.  Game 2 of the series goes Saturday night at 7:00pm live from Cornwall.

Jr Senators & Gloucester Game 2 Saturday

Game 2 of the Ottawa Jr Senators and Gloucester Rangers goes Saturday night live from Ottawa at 7:30pm.  The Jr Sens lead the best-of-seven series 1-0 after taking Game 1 this past Wednesday night by a 4-1 score.
