CCHL PLAYOFF UPDATE: COLTS DOWN CANADIANS IN GAME 1

It would take an extra period but the Cornwall Colts picked up a huge win on the road Friday night as they defeated the Carleton Place Canadians 3-2. Grant Cooper was the OT hero as he ended things 5:24 into the extra frame as Cornwall took a 1-0 series lead.

It was Cooper’s 2nd goal of the night as he also found the net in the 1st period, along with Kevin Hope.  Goaltender Denny Dubblestyne turned away 29 of the 31 shots he faced to pick up his 3rd victory of the playoffs.

Carleton Place received goals from Captain Stephen Baylis as well as Andy Sturtz while Guillaume Therien made 20 saves on 23 shots in the loss.
