Carleton Place Canadians ’96 forward Bryce Van Horn has committed to Colorado College for the 2016-17 hockey season.
The Kimball, Michigan native is currently in his second season with the Canadians where he leads his club with 35 goals and is second with 63 points in 57 games. He has almost doubled his scoring and point totals from last season where he finished with 19 goals and 36 points in 61 games. He added another 4 goals and 10 points in 22 combined CCHL Playoff, Fred Page Cup, and RBC Cup games.
Van Horn is known as a strong hard working two-way winger who is willing to go to the tough areas of the ice and battle for space. His willingness to battle not only creates scoring opportunities for himself but opens up space for his teammates to contribute as well.
He is the eighth Carleton Place player to make an NCAA commitment this season, joining the likes of Owen Grant (Vermont), Brett Murray (Penn State), Marcus Joseph (Sacred Heart), Jordan Larson (Alabama-Huntsville), Colton Point (Colgate), Will LeNeave (Union), and A.J Klein (Amherst).
