Jr Senators Stay Alive

Shawn Lynch led the way with 2 goals as the Ottawa Jr Senators staved off elimination with a 5-3 victory over the Pembroke Lumber Kings on Saturday night.  Daniel Sarracco, Greg Meireles, and Thomas Crevier also scored while Ian Andriano made 23 saves for his 1st career playoff victory.

Alexandre Boivin, Jesse Blais, and Felix Chamberland replied for the Lumber Kings while Jordan Piccolini finished with 23 saves in the losing effort.

Pembroke leads the best-of-seven series 3-2, Game 6 goes Sunday night in Pembroke at 7pm.

Canadians Thump Colts

Tied 1-1 mid-way through the game, the Carleton Place Canadians would go on to score 6 unanswered goals to come away with a 7-1 win over Cornwall on Saturday night.  Andrew Dodson (2g, 1a) and Maxime St. Pierre (1g, 2a) led the offensive charge while Stephen Baylis, Connor Merkley, Andy Sturtz, and Devin Campbell also lit the lamp.  Guillaume Therien wasn’t overly busy but made the big stops when needed finishing with 19 saves for his 6th victory of the postseason.

Grant Cooper would have the lone marker for Cornwall while Denny Dubblestyne finished with 30 saves on 37 shots.

The Canadians now lead their best-of-seven series 3-2.  Game 6 goes Sunday night in Cornwall at 7pm.
