The Gatineau Mustangs took the 1st game of the Metro-Valley Conference Finals by defeating the Stittsville Rams 3-0 Wednesday evening in Stittsville. Although the Rams held a 34-22 shot advantage, it would only be the Mustangs who would find the net.
Cedrik Parker and Vincent Proulx had 1 goal and 1 assist each, Mikael Gervais had the other marker while goaltender Justin Malette-Trottier stopped all 34 shots he faced. Matt Couvrette made 19 saves for Stittsville while allowing 2 goals as Gatineau would score on the empty net to close out the game.
Game 2 takes place Friday night at 8pm in Buckingham, PQ.
