Bryce Van Horn had a hat trick, Jordan Larson, Owen Grant, and Nicolas Carrier also found the net as the Carleton Place Canadians defeated the Cornwall Colts Thursday night at the Cornwall Civic Complex.
The Canadians got in on the scoring first when Carrier reeled off a spectacular shorthanded effort which resulted in the Canadians taking a 1-0 lead half way through the first period. Van Horn would also find the net before the period was out, putting Carleton Place up 2-0 at the first intermission.

The Colts would get on the board just over one minute later when Tanner Spink knocked in a rebound after Dean Derouchie showcased a tremendous individual effort on the play. Carleton Place would take a 3-1 lead into the intermission, holding a 15-13 shot advantage.

It took until the 12:48 mark of the third period but Van Horn would complete the hat trick as he beat the Colts defender wide on the rush before cutting to the net and beating Nichol with a back-hand finish. Captain Jordan Larson would add to the Canadians lead with a power-play marker just 20 seconds later before Nick Lalonde and Owen Grant exchanged goals to close out the game. Adrian Clark finished with 23 saves to post his fourth victory of the season.

Brockville Braves 4 Kanata Lasers 3
Eric Faith and Cameron Crotty scored early while Kyle Orgel and Jacob Moreau found the net in the third, helping the Brockville Braves come from behind to defeat the Kanata Lasers 4-3 Thursday night. Ian Johnston (1g, 2a) led the way for Kanata as he continued his strong play, while Michael Locatelli and Roshen Jaswal also had markers for the Lasers.
Between the pipes both goaltenders had strong showings as Henry Johnson stopped 26 saves in the Braves net, earning his fourth win of the young season. In the Lasers crease, Alex Butler finished with 36 saves as he was handed his second loss of the year.
