CCHL PLAYOFFS: LUMBER KINGS ADVANCE, COLTS TAKE LEAD

Pembroke Advances To Semi Finals

The Pembroke Lumber Kings got goals from Anthony Nellis, Stephen Cooney, Owen McDade, Colton Keuhl, and Ryan Casselman as they defeated Brockville 5-0 to advance to the CCHL Semi Finals.  Goaltender Jordan Piccolino stymied the Braves by making 26 saves for the shutout.  Piccolino was solid in the series posting two shutouts, a 1.90 GAA and .931 SV%, being almost perfect after an average Game 1 where he allowed 4 goals.

The loss on the Braves side spelt the end to Junior careers for Ethan Weiss, Liam Folkes, and Captain Sean King, who all head off to play NCAA hockey next season.

Pembroke will now sit and wait for their Semi Final opponent, which pending any miracles will most like be the Ottawa Jr Senators.

Colts Take 3-2 Series Lead On Hawks

All the goals came in the third period and they all came off of Cornwall sticks as the Colts defeated Hawkesbury 3-0 to take a 3-2 best-of-seven series lead.  Tristan Ellie and Marly Quince both beat Hawks goaltender Gunner Rivers and Ryan Patulli put the game away with an empty netter while Denny Dubblestyne stopped 29 shots for the shutout.  Game 6 goes Friday night at the Robert Hartley Sports Complex in Hawkesbury at 7:30pm.
