CANADIANS FALL SHORT AT RBC CUP

For the second straight year the Carleton Place Canadians would find themselves in the National Championship game, and for the second straight year they would fall short.  The Canadians fell by a 5-2 score to the RBC Cup host Portage Terriers to finish 2nd among 129 teams for the second straight season.

Despite the loss, the Canadians organization should hold their heads high, and the Carleton Place community should be proud of what their hockey club accomplished.  They have done an amazing job representing the CCHL, showing the entire country just how great hockey in Eastern Ontario is.  Carleton Place would finish the season with an overall record of 67-15-3-1 and would claim both the CCHL Bogart Cup as well as the Eastern Canadian Fred Page Cup.

With the season now over the off-season work will begin as the Canadians will have some big pieces to fill moving forward.  They will rely heavily on their strong scouting and recruiting to remain competitive moving forward.  As a team that was able to get to back-to-back National Title games, one can only expect their to be a rebuilding period looming.
